Golf gets a lot of hate.
And the game has given us plenty of reasons.
Garish clothing. Gated entry. Gratuitous misappropriation of water.
The negative stereotypes abound for this supposed country club sport. But in actuality? Only 20% of golf is played on a private course. The rest is played by, well, everybody else. Random Golf Club is a global community of golfers with a mission to change how golf is seen and played to better reflect that reality. To let the world know that you can wear what you want to wear, play how you want to play, and even show up with 140 of your closest friends instead of a foursome.
In 2021 and 2022, I led the marketing team, responsible for the voice and positioning of Random Golf Club across our digital media: video launches, 100-person “meetups”, podcast releases, and day-to-day social programming. Plus, I led in the creative direction of our product campaigns, with each offering designed to take a convention in golf and flip it on its head. In 2021 alone, we doubled our following and boasted a returning customer rate that most DTC brands only dream of.
